November 2009 meeting notice
The next meeting of the City Island Civic Association will be on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at the City Island Community Center, 190 Fordham Street. This will be the last meeting of 2009 so everyone who can, please attend.
A representative of the Westchester Square group is coming to the Civic on Tuesday to ask for our support on this issue. The mayor’s office of Homeless Services just dumped a homeless shelter in this neighborhood in spite of neighborhood protests. They are really up in arms about it. They were supportive of our firehouse protest, so perhaps we should return the favor.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the City Island Clean –Up on November 7th. It was a huge success. We will do it again in the spring.
Progress reports with the issues of crime prevention, quality of life, traffic, and development will be presented by the committee chairs. Bill Stanton will bring us up-to-date on the progress of the on-going Police matters.
